About All We Ever Wanted
What would you do if your beloved only child did something so cruel that it caused you to question your parenting? What if that terrible act jeopardized the bright, Ivy League future he worked so hard to achieve? What if, worst of all, you found yourself siding with another family over your own?

These are some of the unthinkable dilemmas Nina Browning faces after her son Finch takes a photo of a classmate passed out at a party, adds a disturbing caption, and sends it to a few friends. The image spreads like wildfire through their upscale enclave of Nashville - illuminating race, class and gender tensions that previously had only simmered beneath the surface.

As Nina tries desperately to make things right with Finch's victim, Lyla Volpe, and Lyla's headstrong single dad Tom, she has to come to terms with the way Finch's actions have exposed the fault lines in both her marriage and the elite community she married into.

The latter subject marks new territory for Giffin. "This is the first time i've written specifically about money, privilege and entitlement," she told Us Weekly, "It is also the first time I've written from three different viewpoints, and given that I'm a married mother, I was surprised to discover that in many ways, I connected most deeply with a single father."

Giffin's book will charm, frustrate, and challenge readers, as she delves even deeper into the mysteries and messiness of our lives, through expert storytelling and her most engaging set of characters yet.
