An endowment generates a permanent source of Library funding. With the help of generous supporters, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Foundation is committed to building its endowment fund to serve many generations to come.
The Library Foundation encourages both restricted and unrestricted endowments and other major gifts to meet long-term and future needs. Our current unrestricted endowment offers maximum flexibility to meet immediate needs and provide seed funding for new initiatives.
In addition to this unrestricted endowment, some donors establish a named endowment to provide long-term support for specific branches or programs. A named fund can honor family or friends, and can be an immediate gift, a bequest or a combination of both, and are meant to endow a program in perpetuity once fully realized.
