Charlotte readers will be among the first in the country to read Emily Giffin’s highly anticipated ninth novel. The Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Foundation is thrilled to announce that the New York Times best-selling author has chosen Charlotte as the first stop on her upcoming book tour. “We’ve worked closely with Random House over the past few years to secure authors for Verse & Vino, our annual fundraising dinner. When they approached us about hosting this event, we knew it would appeal to Charlotte’s community of readers. But it’s especially meaningful because it recognizes Charlotte and our Library Foundation as a literary destination, a place authors want to visit,” explains Jenni Gaisbauer, executive director of the Library Foundation.
Charlotteans can celebrate the release of All We Ever Wanted on June 22, 2018 at ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center. Attendees will enjoy a conversation with Emily Giffin moderated by local author and radio personality Sheri Lynch. They’ll also receive a signed copy of All We Ever Wanted four days before it is available in bookstores, take a professional photo with Emily, and mingle at a dessert reception.
In her latest novel, Giffin delves into the mysteries and messiness of our lives. She tells the fictional story of Nina Browning, whose beloved only child circulates a disturbing photo of a classmate on social media, and the aftermath exposes the race, class and gender tensions just beneath the surface of Nina’s upscale, elite community. “This is the first time I’ve written specifically about money, privilege and entitlement,” she told US Weekly, “It is also the first time I’ve written from three different viewpoints, and given that I’m a married mother, I was surprised to discover that in many ways, I connected most deeply with a single father.” All We Ever Wanted will charm, frustrate and challenge readers.
A Conversation with Emily Giffin is made possible with the generous support of Random House.
