Putting it Together: Behind the Scenes (all year) at Verse & Vino

Before the Verse & Vino committee recovers from one literary weekend, the dates are set for the next, and attention quickly turns to identifying, inviting, and confirming five featured authors. Karen Beach, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Foundation’s deputy director, spearheads this effort with a finesse she attributes to equal parts experience, tenacity, gut instinct, luck and timing.

Get Ready With Words Graduates

Thanks to generous funding from PNC’s Grow Up Great program, the Library, Discovery Place, and Community School of the Arts have delivered multidisciplinary vocabulary-building programs for toddlers and preschool-aged children at two community centers, online and in Library locations for three years.
