Ready for Prime Time!

We've launched something new...and LIVE!  In late June we began airing a new live video series, Karen and Teleia on Books, on our Facebook page.  In the first installment Karen Beach, Deputy Director and Teleia White, Director of Individual Giving, provided a sneak peak into the author selection process for Verse & Vino and shared a few good reads. 

Inspired Support

Sometimes one investment inspires another. This summer, The Cannon Foundation recognized the need for some upkeep at the Mint Hill and Hickory Grove Library locations, and generously allocated discretionary funding to refresh those branches. Encouraged by this private investment, Director of Libraries David Singleton, Mint Hill branch manager Jesse Isley and longtime Library supporter, volunteer, and Mint Hill resident Carol Hull met with Town Manager Brian Welch about additional support from the town.

Books, Wine, and So Much More

When Kara Hunt started her book club, Rosé and Prosé, in January of 2017 the goal was simple: bring together a group of women to share books and wine. Kara and about a dozen other women met every other month and did just that – and the group toasted their first year at Verse & Vino in November. That’s where an idea was born.

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Foundation is thrilled to announce that the New York Times best-selling author has chosen Charlotte as the first stop on her upcoming book tour. “We’ve worked closely with Random House over the past few years to secure authors for Verse & Vino, our annual fundraising dinner. When they approached us about hosting this event, we knew it would appeal to Charlotte’s community of readers.
