Activate your birthday with the Library

Your birthday is on the horizon, and everyone is asking you what you want. If you’re a Library lover, the answer is as easy at 1-2-3.

Turn your birthday into an event for good. Create a fundraiser with the Library Foundation. It’s simple, meaningful, and easy to do. We’re here to help make it a memorable and impactful experience.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Pick a goal.
Turning 50? Encourage people to give $50. Born on the 5th? Encourage people to give $5. Or pick a total amount you’d like to raise.
  2. Write a couple of sentences…
on why supporting the Library Foundation is a great birthday present. See some examples HERE.
  3. Upload…
everything HERE (along with a picture) and we will do the rest.

Here are some tips to ensure your birthday fundraiser is a success:

  1. Set a goal and a deadline.
Define a specific fundraising goal to inspire your friends and family to support you in reaching it. Having a deadline adds a sense of urgency and motivation.
  2. Tell a story.
Share a brief personal story about why the library holds significance for you. Whether it’s a cherished memory or the valuable role the library plays in your community, your story adds a powerful touch.
  3. Add a photo.
Make your fundraiser personal by including a photo of yourself. It helps connect your friends and family to your cause on a deeper level.
  4. Invite friends and family.
Encourage your loved ones to contribute to your fundraiser and spread the word among their networks.
  5. Give updates.
Keep your supporters engaged by sharing regular updates on your progress. We’ll send you weekly fundraising updates to share with your network.
  6. Match donations.
Consider pledging to match donations up to a certain amount. This doubles the impact of contributions and motivates others to give generously.
  7. Have fun.
Most importantly, enjoy the experience! Hosting a birthday fundraiser is not only impactful but also a fun way to rally support for a cause you care about.

Turning your special day into a special day for the Library increases the power of literacy and education in our community.
