Verse & Vino’s tenth anniversary celebration

Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Foundation celebrated our tenth year of literature, libations, and libraries in the Charlotte Convention Center at Verse & Vino this November. We are thrilled to announce that we had a sell-out crowd with 1,300 people in attendance and raised over $630,000 … with donations still coming in. We are in the midst of enormous growth that will impact generations to come. We are so grateful for your enthusiasm for your Library!

This year we were joined once again by our emcee Sheri Lynch and five outstanding New York Times bestselling authors: Melanie Benjamin, Roxane Gay, Sadeqa Johnson, Etaf Rum, and Brad Taylor.

Thank you to presenting sponsor PNC and to all of our event sponsors, authors, planning committee, vendor partners, and this ever-expanding community of Library supporters – for being a part of Verse & Vino 2023.

“This was my second year attending the event. I’ve lived in Charlotte since 1983 and had no idea this event existed. I am so grateful to my friends who introduced me to this and have invited me for the last two years. I absolutely love this event,” shared an attendee to this year’s event. “It’s fantastic to see the vignettes for each of the books, and get to meet the authors. There are plenty of bars for the cocktail hour, and you never have to wait long for a refill. Sheri Lynch does an incredible job as host of the event and the authors’ speeches are always very entertaining. I love to see everyone dressed up and having a wonderful time. I cannot wait for 2024.”

We can’t wait for 2024, too!
