The President and CEO of the Levine Museum of the New South shared some of her favorites to enjoy with her family and for reading alone. Curated thematically, of course!
I read every word of the first five Harry Potter books aloud to my sons when they were little. By the time we got to the last two books they could read themselves. We bought three copies of the last two books so we could all read them independently but simultaneously. I will always treasure those memories.
I love three writers named Jane:
- Jane Austen: I’ve read all her books multiple times but my all-time favorite is Persuasion.
- Jane Smiley: She’s a miracle writer, who can write drama, fiction, mystery and comedy equally well.
- Jane Hamilton: For the record, I discovered The Book of Ruth before Oprah did!
I love all mysteries, but particularly British mysteries. My perfect day includes rain, a cup of tea, and a great mystery.
