Charlotte Mecklenburg Library’s mobile unit MoLi is coming up on its one year anniversary. And what a year it’s been!

MoLi has increased access to cost-free resources, programs, and WiFi in many high-need areas that have limited access to a physical branch. In addition to this, Library staff have taken MoLi to numerous events and festivals and hosted “Movies with MoLi.”

Aristotle Preparatory Academy served as the site for MoLi’s first author program. The Title I school does not have an on-site library and supports 181 students of which 98% are economically disadvantaged and eligible for free lunch.

Circulation for MoLi compares to the Founders Hall location in Uptown Charlotte and Sugar Creek branch with over 1,000 titles borrowed each month.

Branch September  October November
Mobile Library 1,256 1,087 1,374
Founders Hall 881 979 955
Sugar Creek 1,673 1,940 1,635

MoLi continues to bust through barriers throughout our county (all while observing the rules of the road, of course!) For MoLi’s latest schedule or to request a visit, visit MoLi’s webpage and explore the other incredible offers on our portable Library.
