LIBRARIES MATTER

When Tish Brooks contacted the Hickory Grove Library she was desperate.

Tish is the property manager at Timber Ridge Apartments, just two miles from the Library. In one month, there were 50 crimes at the 100-unit complex, and Tish was anxious to find something positive for the kids who live there to do over the summer, to keep them out of trouble.

Teen Services Specialist Melanie Murdock knew the Library could help.

WCNC Charlotte reporter Michelle Boudin shared the story:

As the trusted hub of neighborhoods throughout the County, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library brings people together to set the stage for change. Together we can create opportunities that improve lives and builds a stronger community.
