Save the Date: November 5, 2020
Over the last six years, Verse & Vino has become one of Charlotte’s most anticipated literary events of the year. An evening of food, wine, laughter, and a joyous celebration of libraries with New York Times best-selling authors and a community of readers, writers and Library supporters. It’s been called the biggest, best book club ever.
This year, Verse & Vino is moving online. The Verse & Vino planning committee, along with Todd Murphy Events, syndicated radio personality and emcee Sheri Lynch, and presenting sponsor PNC Bank have transformed Verse & Vino 2020 into a highly produced, virtual 90-minute event featuring new interactive elements. Guests will safely enjoy Verse & Vino from the comfort and safety of their homes, or any location – where they can host intimate gatherings with clients, book clubs, friends and family. Optional party boxes, date night dinners – and of course books! – allow guests to customize the experience. And in this format, Charlotte’s biggest, best book club can be more inclusive than ever. You may even get a knock on your door while watching – look for new surprises this year!
We asked Weston Andress, PNC regional president for Western Carolinas, to share his thoughts about Verse & Vino 2020. “As the presenting sponsor of Verse & Vino since its inception, PNC Bank is proud to support this rich literary tradition and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Foundation. As Verse & Vino takes on a new virtual format for 2020, we look forward to sharing in this celebration of reading and writing – pastimes that have provided enrichment for so many of us in recent months – with renewed appreciation for authors, books, libraries and our community.”
Look for more detail – and author announcements! – later this summer, but know the planning committee has retained the essential spirit of Verse & Vino, while incorporating new opportunities, interactivity and bonus features the digital platform makes possible. We think you’re going to love it. So save November 5, 2020 – we’re expecting you![/vc_column_text][us_separator size=”small”][us_btn label=”More about Verse & Vino” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Ffoundation.cmlibrary.org%2Fverse-vino%2F|title:Verse%20%26%20Vino%20Archives||” style=”4″ align=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
