Library Resources Exploring Social Justice and Race Relations

Charlotte Mecklenburg Library’s mission is to improve lives and build a stronger community. Our staff provides resources, space, information and materials to everyone in our community. Everyone is welcome in our libraries.

In late spring 2020, people across the city, state, nation and world gather in large and small groups to protest the murder of George Floyd and the ongoing problem of systemic racism and injustice. The Library is committed to providing resources to facilitate conversations and encourage all voices to be heard. Keeping a Language Alive

There is a reason why Tamil is thought to be the oldest language in the world. Charlotte Tamil Library Volunteer Group (a.k.a. Charlotte Tamil Noolaga Kuzhu) have devoted time and gifts to bring 150 Tamil books to Charlotte Mecklenburg Library patrons — and they don’t plan on stopping.
