They say experience can’t be taught, and that’s one of many reasons to introduce an Honorary Advisory Council.

This group of former Charlotte Mecklenburg Library trustees and Foundation board members have served with distinction through good times and through challenge, and their combined leadership has brought the Library to this moment: a trusted institution, embedded throughout our community as a place for safe dialogue, reliable information, and the resources and connections we all need.

Sally Robinson will lead the Council, and she shared that everyone invited to serve in this new capacity accepted immediately. She’s personally excited as well:

“I am delighted to serve as Chairman of the Library and the Library Foundation’s Honorary Advisory Council. Each member of the Council has been privileged to serve the Library in leadership roles, some of us as far back as the 1980’s, and our passion for the Library has never been greater. We are thrilled with the goals of the CommonSpark campaign and stand ready to help in any way we can.”

We are proud and grateful that this group, who have given the Library so much already, will continue to share their perspective and experience as we write the Library’s next chapter together.
