What’s Dana Eure Reading?

Dana Eure has spent her career in our libraries and others across North Carolina. As Charlotte Mecklenburg Library’s Branch Channel Leader, she provides strategic and operating leadership to the library branches in support of the delivery of professional library collections, materials, programs and services to the community. In addition to this role, Dana was recently named the Library’s Acting Library Director/Chief Customer Officer.  She still makes time to read – and told us what’s on her bookshelf right now.

The Library Book by Susan Orlean

This non-fiction book tells the story of a mysterious fire that destroyed a good part of the collection of the Los Angeles Public Library in 1986.  It doubles as a love letter to all libraries. (A great gift for the readers in your life.)

The Clockmakers Daughter by Kate Morton

I love a great historical murder mystery and am looking forward to this one. One hundred and fifty years after one guest is shot to death and another disappears at a Victorian house party the mystery is investigated by another visitor to the house.

Look Alive Twenty Five by Janet Evanovich

My guilty pleasure is always the latest in the Stephanie Plum series!  New Jersey bounty-hunter Stephanie and her sidekick Lula are always a fun, quick read.  (I’m on Team Ranger!)

American Audacity: In Defense of Literary Daring by William Giraldi

Giraldi is a literary critic who defends American literary classics and encourages every American to read and enjoy them.

The President is Missing by Bill Clinton and James Patterson

I’m waiting on my autographed copy of this political thriller!

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

Hands down, this is my favorite book I’ve read this year and it is in my stack to read again.  Although written for teens, this book is great for adults too.  It follows the events in the life of a 16-year-old girl who is drawn into activism after she witnesses the police shooting of a childhood friend.
