The Update for June 30, 2023

Families enjoyed “Daddies and Doughnuts” Storytime at SouthPark Regional Library on Father’s Day weekend with Pepperbox Doughnuts.

Summertime has new meaning to me these days. Before I became a mom, the season would be over before I could even put together a plan.

I’m reliving my childhood through my daughter Sadie. We’ve filled our summer with trips to the mountains, the beach and everything in between — seeing old friends, reconnecting with family, and sharing all sorts of activities together.

Recently I realized how intentional I need to be to make sure we live our best summer before these precious years pass us by. I’m glad we took the time to plan ahead and create memories together.

One of the activities we’re doing as a family is the Library’s reading program Summer Break. Logging our books and activities together holds new significance as we mark our progress and introduce Sadie to the wonder of reading. She is really into Where the Wild Things Are and loves to visit the Allegra Westbrooks branch for their Tuesday morning Storytime.

A lot of you have shared with me that the library summer reading programs of your childhood were instrumental in turning you into a lifelong reader. Even today we all are building intentional summers with the Library.

Can I count on you to make a gift today to support programs like Summer Break? Help us close the fiscal year with intentionality. And be sure to sign up for the reading challengeand help the Library meet its goal.
